Skype has ever assured that they would launch the official Skype application for iPhone and is now available in the Apple store for free. As we knew that Skype is a messenger based application which has several features, and the best of all is its Voice call feature. With voice call, we can make a free call over the internet to our buddies who use the same application. Other features are Instant Messaging, Video Conferencing and File Transfer.
Basically, It consists of five buttons for Contacts, Chats, Call, History and My Info. As we perhaps know, Skype by default requires WiFi to generate calls, but we're going to fix that so you can have some nice Skype over 3G action!
I’ll tell you how :
1. Install Skype from Apple Store
2. Run the Cydia. Search and install the following applications:
3. After installing the above applications, please reboot your iPhone.
4. Connect your iPhone to PC via OpenSSH (Mac = Cyberduck / PC = Winscp)
5. After connected, go to the directory: /Library/MobileSubstrate/DynamicLibraries
6. Modify the VoIPover3G.plist.
7. Press the Skype icon on Springboard until an X sign appears on the left top side of it
8. Press the X sign for uninstalling the Skype.
9. Reboot again.
10. Reinstall the Skype from Apple Store.
11. Run the Cydia again and install the Intelliscreen to ensure the VoIPover3G.plist we have already modified has been functioned.
12. Make sure you have installed the license retrieve (You can use from xsellize for free)
13. Run the Intelliscreen, Scroll down, click "Performance" , turn ON the Launch Boost, scroll down, turn ON the VoIPover3G, click save, click apply.
14. Reboot your iPhone once more
15. Activate the Skype (log in Skype)
16. Turn off the WiFi.
Notes:
Enjoy the Skype over 3g calls ;)
